SULUIT is an Inuit word meaning “wings” and is the name of the band composed of several of Greenland’s most popular and well-known contemporary artists – Nukâka Coster-Waldau, Karina Møller, H.H. Suersaq, Ilannguaq Lumholt, and a recognized face on the Danish and Arctic music scene, the keyboard player and pianist Kristoffer Jul Reenberg who beautifully ties the songs together. SULUIT’s sound is driven by vocals inspired by traditional Greenlandic music, myths and drum songs; a blend of world, soul, pop and throat singing that takes audiences on a musical journey into the far north. SULUIT´s repertoire is primarily composed and written by Nukâka and Karina then rearranged by the group. The group was founded in March 2018 and has already performed in Paris and a variety of venues in Denmark and was part of the “Pathway to Paris” charity concert that took place in San Francisco, September 14th 2018.
